Nowadays, the tendency directs towards the intensification of production processes based on more advanced technology. The relation with the U.S.A. economy and the presence of foreign investment has allowed the access of new production processes.
Through the new State’s Entrepreneurial Development Policy (unique nation wide) the private sector of our State has clearly defined those economic activities that we should impulse in the different areas of Baja California.
The State Government is implementing specific strategies to eliminate all that inhibits economic development, and thus, supporting those with a greater impact on the value chain.
The private sector in Baja California is under transition, moving from manufacturing of generic products, packaging and basic assembly into more added value processes such as manufacture of strategic products, research and development, as well as distribution, logistics and services.
Baja California is the strategic site for cluster development and high technology processes. Base on the Entrepreneurial Development Policy, we have detected the main Clusters located in the State. The Secretariat of Economic Development is looking to retain and attract companies in growing industries such as medical devices, auto parts, specialized electronics and aerospace products as well as in embryonic industries such as semiconductors and biotechnology.
